Kim Hee-won, Directing Again... Adapting the Web Novel 'Sangnamja'

Kim Hee-won is returning as a director once again.

Actor Kim Hee-won made his directorial debut with the Disney+ original 〈Lighting Store〉. His direction received acclaim, earning him a nomination for Best Director at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards.

Now, Kim Hee-won is taking on directing again. The project he has chosen for his next work is 〈Sangnamja〉. Like 〈Lighting Store〉, it has a webtoon, but it is actually based on a web novel. The original 〈Sangnamja〉 depicts the story of a man, Han Yoo-hyun, who has lived only for success and finds himself regretting his life, leading to events that unfold as he returns to the past.

While 〈Lighting Store〉 is based on horror but portrays humanism, 〈Sangnamja〉 is also set against a corporate backdrop but deals with the process of finding what is precious in life, suggesting that Director Kim Hee-won's direction will create good synergy with 〈Sangnamja〉.

〈Sangnamja〉 is currently in production, aiming for a crank-in next year.
