Actress Jo Yeo-jeong shared her feelings when she was offered the movie 〈Murderer Report〉.
On the afternoon of the 28th, a press screening and press conference for the movie 〈Murderer Report〉 took place at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall. At the press conference, director Jo Young-jun and lead actors Jo Yeo-jeong, Jung Sung-il, and Kim Tae-han attended to discuss the film with domestic reporters.
The movie 〈Murderer Report〉 tells the story of veteran reporter Seon-joo (Jo Yeo-jeong) who is thirsty for exclusive stories and receives a request for an interview from psychiatrist Young-hoon (Jung Sung-il) who confesses to a series of murders. At the press conference, Jo Yeo-jeong said, "When I first read the script, I thought, 'This format can actually make a two-hour movie.' It felt so unfamiliar and difficult that I wanted to avoid it, but ultimately it was a script that made me want to take on the challenge."
In particular, Jo Yeo-jeong confessed that the two-person play-like structure of the film was a significant burden. She added, "Since it was a movie with a format I had never seen before, I thought that if I couldn't act even a little, there would really be nowhere to hide. At first, I was afraid that because the quality of the script was so high, if I couldn't express this effectively, the whole movie could be shaken."
However, now that filming is over, Jo Yeo-jeong expressed that she has gained confidence that 'it was good to take the risk.' She stated, "If it weren't for this work, I don't think I would have easily encountered an opportunity like the role of Seon-joo, which comes rarely to me. So in the end, I think it was good to take the risk."
The movie 〈Murderer Report〉 will be released in theaters nationwide on September 5 (Friday).
