The thriller movie 〈MURDER REPORT〉 set to be released next month is attracting the audience's attention with a format that differentiates it from existing genre films. Centered around a one-on-one interview between a serial killer and a reporter, this work showcases a unique structure that focuses on psychological tension rather than physical action.
At the production report held on the 12th at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, the lead actors and director shared their thoughts on the work. Jo Yeo-jeong, who plays the reporter, explained her reason for participating, saying, "I thought I would regret it if I missed this project, and it was a film with a format I had never seen before that filled the tension and density with just an interview."

Jo Yeo-jeong also mentioned the intensity of the filming process. "After filming, when I went back to my accommodation, I felt pain in my forehead muscles as if I had strained my brow too much," she recalled, adding, "The tension was quite significant." Regarding her recent work 〈Zombie Daughter〉, she said, "It was a tremendous challenge to appear in 〈Zombie Daughter〉, and I can only express my gratitude and that it was good," and added, "〈MURDER REPORT〉 is a film with a completely different charm, so I hope you find it interesting."
Jung Sung-il, a psychiatrist and the serial killer Yeong-hoon, shared his joining process, saying, "As soon as I read the script, I was afraid that this book (script) would go to someone else, so I immediately said, 'I absolutely want to do this.'" He explained, "I don't like serial killers, but I could take on this role because I understood the starting point of becoming a killer," and added, "I thought a lot about how to express the ability to persuade and manipulate people."

Jung Sung-il also did not hold back on his evaluation of his co-actor. "There is no need to discuss acting skills, and I learned a lot from their attitude on set," he said with a smile, adding, "Seeing 〈Zombie Daughter〉 succeed made me think, 'I really made the right choice to work together.'"
〈MURDER REPORT〉, the feature film debut of director Jo Young-jun, is characterized by its unique direction. Director Jo stated, "I wanted to make the film a 'sword fight with the tongue,'" and expressed his intention to depict conflicts arising from logic rather than physical clashes.
Regarding the characteristics of the work, Director Jo introduced it in one word as a "breath-taking movie." He predicted, "The sparks that continue between the two characters and the weight of the ending, along with the moral dilemma, will leave you breathless after watching it."

It is known that special care was taken in the direction of the hotel suite room, which is the main setting of the film. Director Jo explained, "I wanted the room itself to exist as a 'creature' that constrains the two characters," and added, "I put a lot of effort into ensuring that each prop precisely matched the flow of the story."
Finally, Director Jo Young-jun emphasized the charm of the work, saying, "It’s a movie that makes you feel anxious and tense while also providing a 'dopamine stimulation' that makes you want to watch more."
