Choi Min-sik and Han So-hee’s 'The Intern' Sets Sept. 16 Release, Unveils First Poster and Trailer

Warner Bros. Korea on Aug. 4 unveiled the first poster and trailer for 〈The Intern〉, confirming that the Choi Min-sik and Han So-hee film will open Sept. 16 ahead of the Chuseok holiday frame.

〈The Intern〉 follows the cross-generational office life that unfolds when Gi-ho (Choi Min-sik), a 37-year veteran 'silver intern,' joins the company led by young CEO Seon-woo (Han So-hee), who turned the brand WOO22 into a dark horse in fashion within three years of its launch. The film is a remake—adapted to Korean sensibilities—of the 2015 global hit Hollywood movie of the same name. Directed by Kim Do-young, who earned recognition for his stylish work on the film 〈Manyak-e Uri〉, the movie presents a lively Korean-office ensemble.

The first poster shows Gi-ho and Seon-woo striding confidently to work. Gi-ho's smile, suggestive of the ease that comes with long experience, plays off Seon-woo's bold confidence, teasing chemistry between them across generations and ranks. The trailer, released alongside the poster, depicts Gi-ho's first day—in an interview he quips, "My weakness is that I'm old"—and Seon-woo reacts, calling him "intimidating," which draws laughs. Veteran performers such as Kim Jun-han as the vice president and Ryu Hye-young as the secretary join the cast, adding texture and realism to the workplace portrait.

〈The Intern〉, which highlights leading actor Choi Min-sik's turn as a 'silver intern' and rising star Han So-hee's portrayal of a young CEO, will open nationwide in theaters on Wednesday, Sept. 16, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
