
The action movie 〈Mantis〉 depicts the fierce competition for the top spot between the A-class killer ‘Mantis’, who returns after a long vacation to a world where all rules have collapsed, his trainee rival ‘Jae-i’, and the retired legend killer ‘Dok-go’. The character stills showcase Im Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, and Jo Woo-jin perfectly transformed into their charming killer roles.

The released character stills draw attention with the solemn expressions of characters struggling to become the number one in a world of killers where all rules have collapsed. First, Han-wool (Im Si-wan), who returns to Korea after a long vacation, receives a phone call informing him that the head of the company he was part of has died, raising curiosity about what challenges await the naturally talented killer. Additionally, the scene of him fiercely fighting someone while holding his signature weapon suitable for ‘Mantis’ instantly captures attention and heightens expectations for the dazzling action Im Si-wan will showcase. The charismatic expression of Jae-i (Park Gyu-young), who is an old friend and rival of ‘Mantis’, and her continuous honing of skills increases curiosity about the new character Park Gyu-young will present. Although Jae-i possesses outstanding skills that rival Han-wool, her strange jealousy and inferiority complex towards him raise questions about how their relationship will evolve. Lastly, the serious expression of the legendary killer Dok-go (Jo Woo-jin), holding documents, boasts an extraordinary presence. Dok-go returns to re-establish rules in the chaotic world of killers after the number one has died, and his sharp gaze amplifies curiosity about what kind of storm he will bring to the world of contract killers.

Im Si-wan stated, “Although I received offers from major companies, I decided to start a new company with my friend Jae-i to become the number one in the industry. I discussed a lot with the director about the relationship between Han-wool and Jae-i,” adding to the anticipation of how the A-class killer Han-wool, known for his exceptional skills, will present himself in the complex relationship with his friend and rival Jae-i. Park Gyu-young described Jae-i as “the strongest and most powerful character I have ever played. I felt that emotions were expressed more through action than dialogue, and I matched the action details as much as possible in action school,” amplifying curiosity about how she will embody action infused with emotion.

Jo Woo-jin, who plays Han-wool's mentor and legendary killer Dok-go, said, “I hoped Dok-go would be a charming old-timer. He is a character trying to ignite his last flame in life,” sharing his efforts to build a character from the older generation trying to maintain his position among rising killers. Director Lee Tae-sung, who directed 〈Mantis〉, expressed, “I believe the combination of Im Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, and Jo Woo-jin is the best combination.
