Jung Jae-young and Lee Yi-kyung Start Filming 'Generational Regret' (Tentative) as Father and Son

The actors ‘Jung Jae-young’ and ‘Lee Yi-kyung’ are teaming up as a father and son in the occult comedy film 〈Generational Regret〉 (tentative title) which has begun filming. The film 〈Generational Regret〉 (tentative title) depicts the humorous chemistry between a father who wants to protect his family after hearing from a shaman that "the ancestral spirits are angry" and his eldest son who wants to exorcise them. The father, played by the overwhelmingly charismatic ‘Jung Jae-young’, is expected to present a serious yet comedic performance as he tries to appease the ancestral spirits by offering all his wealth in a shamanistic ritual, while the son ‘Bong-deok’, played by ‘Lee Yi-kyung’, who has shown his comedic talent in films like 〈Yuksa-o〉 and 〈Hitman〉, portrays a seven-time exam taker who has never succeeded. In particular, Bong-deok's audacious determination to exorcise the ancestral spirits that are obstacles in his life is a key point of interest in the film.

The supporting cast is also impressive. Leading the cast is ‘Kim Joo-ryeong’, who gained global attention for her role as ‘Han Mi-nyeo’ in the Netflix global hit 〈Squid Game〉, followed by ‘Kim Ah-young’, who solidified her position by winning the SBS Excellence Acting Award for the drama 〈The Judge from Hell〉 after appearing in 〈SNL Korea〉, and ‘Park Jung-hwa’, who started as an idol in EXID and has built a solid acting career, all expected to deliver non-stop laughter. The film is directed by Kim Sung-yoon, who made his feature debut with 〈Fragments〉, which won the CGV Award and the Green Snake Media Award at the 29th Busan International Film Festival. 〈Fragments〉 has also received acclaim overseas, being officially screened at the 2025 Montreal Fantasia International Film Festival and the New York Asian Film Festival.

The film 〈Generational Regret〉 (tentative title) is co-produced by Stone V Studio and Blue Fire Studio. Stone V Studio is a label studio of Big Stone Pictures, which produced 〈Miracle in Cell No. 7〉, 〈Hansan: Rising Dragon〉, and Blue Fire Studio is producing the film 〈Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight〉. Solear Partners, which has invested in projects like 〈Pilot〉 and 〈Sleep〉, is providing support. The film 〈Generational Regret〉 (tentative title) will begin its first shoot in early September and aims to reach audiences in 2026.
