Song Kang-ho, to Become a 'Plant Caretaker'?... Confirmed to Appear in Director Nam Dong-hyup's New Work 'The Gardeners'

Actor Song Kang-ho has been confirmed to appear in director Nam Dong-hyup's upcoming project 〈The Gardeners〉 as announced by the production company Hive Media Corp on the 11th.

〈The Gardeners〉 tells the story of a civil servant who takes up flower growing as his only hobby and, due to a huge debt, teams up with a local troublemaker to embark on a special horticultural business. The process of how their horticultural business leads to unexpected chaos in the previously quiet village is depicted.

In the work, Song Kang-ho plays the role of Choi Young-il, a civil servant who feels happiness as a 'plant caretaker'. He is set to portray a character who finds solace only in growing plants amidst an ordinary life but gets caught up in unexpected situations.

Director Nam Dong-hyup gained attention by showcasing a unique horror-comedy genre through his debut work 〈Handsome Guys〉. He also won the Best New Director Award at this year's 'Directors' Cut Awards' for this work.

〈The Gardeners〉 is currently preparing for production with the goal of cranking in next year.
