The 30th Busan International Film Festival officially invited film 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 is drawing the attention of Korean audiences with its K-culture. Amid the global phenomenon of the film 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉, interest in Korean culture is rising worldwide. And with the release of 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 set for September 24, it offers a special opportunity for domestic audiences to experience Korean culture on the screen, further heightening their expectations. 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 is an unpredictable comedy featuring a K-grandma who catches on to the fake marriage plans of two same-sex couples.

The scene that most vividly showcases Korean culture in 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 is undoubtedly the traditional wedding scene of ‘Min’ (Han Gi-chan) and ‘Angela’ (Kelly Marie Tran). The beauty of traditional weddings will fill the screen with the groom in traditional attire and the bride adorned with a traditional headdress and makeup, along with ‘Ja-young’ (Youn Yuh-jung) dressed in a blue jeogori. The wedding space decorated with traditional Korean patterns and paintings, along with various ceremonial items, captures the eye, and the traditional wedding procedures, from the groom and bride bowing to each other to the bride paying respects to the groom's family, are meticulously depicted, vividly conveying the charm of Korean culture. Additionally, scenes of ‘Min’ using traditional Korean patchwork for design work and ‘Ja-young’ preparing a table full of Korean dishes also appear. These scenes, along with the traditional wedding, embody Korea's unique aesthetics and lifestyle, enriching the film's appeal.

The background that allowed 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 to capture Korean culture is largely attributed to the delicate direction of Korean-American director Andrew Ahn. He has naturally blended various aspects of Korean culture into the story set against an American backdrop, adding Korean sentiment and modern sensibility throughout. This reinterpretation of Korean culture through a Hollywood lens is expected to resonate deeply with domestic audiences, further increasing interest in 〈The Wedding Banquet〉. 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 will be available for exclusive release at Lotte Cinema on September 24.
