‘The Wedding Banquet’ Depicts K-Culture in Hollywood!

The 30th Busan International Film Festival officially invited film 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 is drawing the attention of Korean audiences with its K-culture. Amid the global phenomenon of the film 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉, interest in Korean culture is rising worldwide. And with the release of 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 set for September 24, it offers a special opportunity for domestic audiences to experience Korean culture on the screen, further heightening their expectations. 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 is an unpredictable comedy featuring a K-grandma who catches on to the fake marriage plans of two same-sex couples.

The scene that most vividly showcases Korean culture in 〈The Wedding Banquet〉 is undoubtedly the traditional wedding scene of ‘Min’ (Han Gi-chan) and ‘Angela’ (Kelly Marie Tran). The beauty of traditional weddings will fill the screen with the groom in traditional attire and the bride adorned with a traditional headdress and makeup, along with ‘Ja-young’ (Youn Yuh-jung) dressed in a blue jeogori.
