The representative band of British Britpop, Oasis, will reunite with Korean fans for the first time in 16 years. The band will hold a concert at Goyang Sports Complex on the 21st.

This will be Oasis's first performance in Korea since 2009. Formed in 1991, the band has sold over 90 million records worldwide and is regarded as a global rock band that has topped the UK charts with all seven of its studio albums.

They left behind widely known hits such as 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'Live Forever', but declared disbandment in 2009 due to ongoing conflicts between the core members, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

The Gallagher brothers, who continued their solo activities, surprised the music industry and fans by announcing their sudden reunion last August. The first concert of their world tour, which started in July this year in the UK, sold out immediately, proving their continued popularity with rampant ticket scalping.

The response from Korean fans has also been enthusiastic. Tickets were sold out from the first day of sales, showing strong interest. The official Oasis pop-up store, operating in Seoul from the 16th to the 26th of this month, has over 11,000 fans who have made reservations to visit.

The special connection between Oasis and Korean fans is also raising expectations for this concert. After their first visit to Korea in 2006, they visited Korea twice in 2009 and even performed 'Live Forever', a song they usually do not play on tour, at the Korean concert.

Even after disbandment, the Gallagher brothers frequently visited Korea individually. Liam held concerts in 2011 and 2017, while Noel regularly performed in Korea from 2012 until last year.

During his visit to Korea in 2019, Noel expressed his affection for Korean fans, saying, "Korea is one of the countries I want to perform in the most," and added, "I regret not coming when Oasis was at its peak."
