
G-DRAGON has made his mark on the 'Goldie Powerhouse 40', shining a light on his status as a K-pop icon.
The 'Golden Disc Awards' has announced the 'Goldie Powerhouse 40', a list of 40 influential figures who have made significant contributions to the history of Korean popular music from its inception in 1986 to 2025, marking its 40th anniversary this year. This ranking includes icons who have expanded the horizons of Korean popular music, from Na Hoon-a, Cho Yong-pil, and Kim Gun-mo to Seo Taiji, BLACKPINK, and BTS.
Among them, G-DRAGON has been recognized both as an individual and as part of his group BIGBANG. The 'Goldie Powerhouse 40' described G-DRAGON as an "icon of the era," adding that he is not only a unique musical artist but also active as a fashion icon with his distinctive style.
The 'Golden Disc Powerhouse 40' is a benchmark that selects 40 influential figures who have made significant contributions to the history of Korean popular music from 1986 to 2025, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the 'Golden Disc Awards' in 2026. The selection was made by a panel of 50 music industry professionals, including producers, composers, lyricists, music producers, media and content personnel, journalists, and critics.
