On the 28th, SEVENTEEN's agency Pledis Entertainment announced that the group will unveil a special version of the 'God of Music' music video in collaboration with the world-renowned character Smurf.
Pledis revealed that they are producing collaboration content between SEVENTEEN and Smurfs in partnership with Peyo Company, which holds the rights to the Smurfs. The Smurfs are characters created by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford (pen name Peyo) in 1958, and they have gained worldwide popularity through various forms including comic series, animations, and movies.
SEVENTEEN is set to release the Smurf collaboration version of the 'God of Music' music video next month. On the 23rd, a teaser video utilizing the melody of 'God of Music' was posted on the official Smurf YouTube channel. The video features silhouettes of 13 newly created Smurf characters.
The agency explained the background of this collaboration, stating, "Both the Smurf's birthday and the release date of 'God of Music' are on October 23rd, and we planned this project based on the idea that both contents demonstrate the value of coexistence."
Through this collaboration, Smurf characters and related products based on the SEVENTEEN members will also be released in the future. The new characters will maintain the unique characteristics of the Smurfs, such as blue skin, small stature, and magical abilities, while reflecting the individual traits of the 13 SEVENTEEN members.
SEVENTEEN has previously introduced collaboration products with popular overseas characters. In Japan, they collaborated with Sanrio and Bearbrick, and in China, they unveiled products created in partnership with the doll brand TeddyTails.
