
The live-action project of 'Call of Duty' is finally gaining momentum.
The famous FPS (first-person shooter) game series 'Call of Duty' is set to be adapted into a live-action film through Paramount. According to reports from the media outlet 'Deadline', Paramount recently signed rights related to the live-action adaptation with Activision, the production company of the 'Call of Duty' series, and announced that Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg have joined the project.
The two, who previously collaborated on the screenplay and direction for 〈Wind River〉 and 〈Lost in the Dust〉, are said to be participating in the screenplay and production this time. Among them, Peter Berg has been appointed as the director. Peter Berg has shown expertise in action direction through films like 〈Kingdom〉, 〈Hancock〉, 〈Lone Survivor〉, and 〈Mile 22〉, and is expected to maximize the appeal of this 'Call of Duty'.
The 'Call of Duty' series features different backgrounds for each work, such as modern warfare and near-future warfare, so it remains to be seen what era will be the backdrop for the live-action adaptation.
