TVING and Disney+ are partnering in South Korea to target viewers.
On the 18th, TVING announced that it will launch the '3 PACK', allowing access to all three platforms—TVING, Disney+, and WAVVE—with a single subscription. This bundled subscription '3 PACK' is part of a strategic partnership with Disney Korea, representing an integration between global OTT and local platforms, and is being hailed as an unprecedented innovative attempt to watch all three platforms simultaneously. Through this, TVING aims to significantly enhance benefits for domestic users while promoting co-growth in the domestic OTT market and setting a new standard for user experience.
The newly introduced bundled subscription is based on the standard subscription and includes ▲ '3 PACK' (monthly 21,500 KRW) for access to TVING, Disney+, and WAVVE ▲ 'Double (Disney+)' (monthly 18,000 KRW) for access to TVING and Disney+. This is up to 37% cheaper compared to the cost of subscribing to each platform's standard subscription separately.
TVING CEO Choi Joo-hee stated, "We are pleased to present a reasonable service to domestic users by combining the strong K-content of TVING and WAVVE with Disney's premium content," adding, "In the future, TVING will continue to take bold and innovative challenges to deliver greater joy and inspiration to users based on a strong content library."
Kim So-yeon, CEO of Disney Korea, remarked, "As Disney+ celebrates its 4th anniversary in Korea, we have launched an innovative product and strengthened our role as a bridge connecting the creative capabilities of local content with global viewers. We expect this partnership to be a 'game changer' in the Korean streaming market and plan to create meaningful opportunities considering various needs in the future."
