Actor Yamamoto Nairu, who left a strong impression as the enemy faction's sub-leader ‘Asuka’ in director Byun Sung-hyun's Netflix film 〈Good News〉, will showcase a completely different character with unique charm in the upcoming film 〈Super Happy Forever〉 set to release on December 24. Recently, the Japanese actor Yamamoto Nairu, who made a strong impression as the enemy faction's sub-leader ‘Asuka’ in the Netflix film 〈Good News〉, will present a completely contrasting performance to domestic audiences in the highly talked-about film 〈Super Happy Forever〉 that heated up the 29th Busan International Film Festival. 〈Super Happy Forever〉 tells the story of Sano, who wishes for the summer he fell in love with his wife Nagi five years ago to bloom again. As Sano (Sano Hiroki) revisits the resort to find his wife's lost hat, a dazzling time with his wife unfolds, blurring the lines between imagination and reality. This is the latest work by the rising Japanese director Igarashi Kohei, who has consistently garnered attention at international film festivals such as the Locarno International Film Festival, Venice International Film Festival, and Busan International Film Festival.

In the film, Yamamoto Nairu plays Sano's wife ‘Nagi’, whom he falls in love with at first sight, vividly and delicately portraying the emotions of a day revived in a coastal town. Starting his career as a model, he entered acting in 2019 and gained attention with 〈The Cat That Escaped〉 (2022). Recently, he has been expanding his presence on the international stage through the Netflix film 〈Good News〉 and the Disney+ series [Carnival] Season 2. Notably, director Byun Sung-hyun revealed that he was “captivated several times during filming” due to Yamamoto's charming performance. In this work, he will present a fresh and innocent atmosphere of falling in love, contrasting sharply with the rough image from 〈Good News〉, offering domestic audiences a new discovery.

The film, which premiered as the opening film of the Venice Days at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, has been officially invited to 17 prestigious film festivals worldwide and has received recognition for its artistic quality, winning the Best Film Award at the 51st Ghent Film Festival, the Silver Shell Award at the 46th Nantes 3 Continents Film Festival, and the Golden Puffin Award in the New Vision section at the 21st Reykjavik International Film Festival. Director Miyake Sho of 〈Travel and Days〉 praised it, stating, “In seemingly ordinary scenes, overwhelming emotions and a sense of loss surge simultaneously,” further heightening expectations for the film. The film 〈Super Happy Forever〉, which promises a 180-degree different charm from Yamamoto Nairu, will be released in theaters nationwide on Christmas Eve, December 24.
