The Cinecube, an art cinema operated by T-Cast, a media affiliate of the Taekwang Group, successfully held a commemorative event on December 2nd in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, marking its 25th anniversary. About 200 attendees, including approximately 150 figures from the film industry such as directors, actors, and officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, gathered to reflect on the meaningful footsteps of Cinecube and to look forward to the future. Cinecube was opened on December 2, 2000, with the aim of being a space where citizens can freely enjoy culture and art in the city, proposed by former chairman Lee Ho-jin of the Taekwang Group. Over the past 25 years, it has established itself as a representative space that has preserved the diversity and public nature of independent and art films.

On this day, the special screening of the Cinecube 25th Anniversary Film 〈The Times of the Theater〉 was held. This anthology work, consisting of three short films directed by Lee Jong-pil, Yoon Ga-eun, and Jang Geon-jae, illuminated the artistic and social significance of the theater from various perspectives. The directors who took the stage expressed their affection for Cinecube. Director Jang Geon-jae of 〈I Hate Korea〉 and 〈A Summer Fantasia〉 briefly congratulated, saying, "Gwanghwamun has the City Hall Plaza, Cheonggyecheon, and Cinecube." Director Yoon Ga-eun of 〈The Owner of the World〉 and 〈Us〉 said, "During the 25 years this theater has endured in Gwanghwamun, I have encountered so many films that changed my life. I hope that films that will change many people's lives continue to be screened for another 50 years, 100 years." Director Lee Jong-pil of 〈The Escape〉 and 〈Samjin Company English TOEIC Class〉 said, "It seems that Cinecube is the only remaining art cinema that was in Gwanghwamun a long time ago, so it seems to become a more precious space as time goes by."

Meanwhile, Cinecube is currently holding the year-end regular planning exhibition [25th Anniversary Special Exhibition: The Movies We Loved] following the retrospective of its 25th anniversary, as well as the [2025 Cinecube Art Film Premiere Festival]. This planning exhibition, running from November 27 to December 7, features new works by world-renowned directors such as Jim Jarmusch, Richard Linklater, Michel Franco, and Miyake Sho, as well as works by emerging directors who have gained attention at major film festivals.
