‘One and Two’ The Vivid World of Edward Yang, 4K Press Stills Unveiled!

The winner of the Best Director award at the 53rd Cannes Film Festival, 〈One and Two〉 has confirmed its first domestic release in 4K remastering to commemorate its 25th anniversary on December 31, and has unveiled 13 types of 4K press stills.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Edward Yang's masterpiece 〈One and Two〉 will be released for the first time in Korea in a 4K remastered version on December 31. Through previous works such as 〈A Brighter Summer Day〉, 〈Taipei Story〉, and 〈The Terrorizers〉, Edward Yang has been consistently loved, and in this work, he further deepens and broadens his cinematic world. Set against the backdrop of the city of 'Taipei', it delicately captures the truths of life that we easily overlook and the emotional threads hidden within. Even now, it continues to evoke strong empathy from numerous filmmakers and audiences, earning its place as a classic.

The newly released 4K press stills intricately capture the everyday life and unique colors of Taipei in the early 2000s, vividly bringing to life the world of the Yang family. The generational perspectives, cracks in daily life, and questions about what we do not see are characteristics of Edward Yang's filmography that are once again clearly revealed through these stills. The stills, which capture the key scenes of the film, convey the deep emotions of the work not only to audiences who have loved 〈One and Two〉 but also to those encountering the film for the first time.

Yangyang, wandering alone in a hotel where a wedding is in full swing, Yangyang eating a hamburger at McDonald's after the wedding while being watched by his dad NJ, Tingting chatting with a friend at a bagel shop, Yangyang printing photos he took, and Tingting walking in the rain in Taipei preparing for a date, show the individual stories of family members living in different spaces. To commemorate its 25th anniversary, the first 4K remastered version of 〈One and Two〉 will be released in theaters on December 31, as the last film of this year and the first work to welcome the new year.
