"Thoughts of Disbandment Thousands of Times"…BTS RM, The Weight of Leadership and the Promise of 'Complete Group'

BTS leader RM shared his honest thoughts about the future and identity of the team ahead of their complete group comeback next spring. During a Weverse Live on the afternoon of the 7th, he expressed his feelings, saying, "I have thought thousands of times about whether it would be better to disband or to pause the team."

RM continued, "The reason we are continuing this team is because of the immense love we have for each other and the love and respect we have for all of you watching this live right now," revealing the driving force behind maintaining the team. He also shared positive news about the preparation for the new album scheduled for release next spring.

"The album is almost ready, and we practiced together yesterday," RM said, adding, "We are also filming content and practicing every day," and promised, "We will prepare well and show you."

All members of BTS, starting with the eldest Jin and J-Hope last year, have completed their military service this year, including RM, V, Jungkook, Jimin, and Suga. However, they showed a cautious attitude regarding the background of choosing to return next year instead of this year after completing their military service.

"People ask why we wasted the second half of 2025 and if we did nothing, but we didn't want to waste it either," RM said, adding, "I wanted to do many activities after my discharge, but there are things I cannot talk about." He expressed his longing for fans, saying, "The last concert was in October 2022, and it's already been over three years. I want to perform right away."

RM stated, "We need some preparation. It's frustrating that all we can do is prepare," while maintaining a cautious stance, saying, "There are reasons we couldn't be active, and there was a reason we decided not to be active in the second half of the year, but I don't have the right to speak about it."

Nevertheless, he mentioned, "We will practice and film in December. The comeback is not far away now," and added, "I am truly sorry for making you wait so long, but we will definitely return. We will do our best."

Seemingly aware of the situation surrounding the team and members, RM questioned, "If you live a life only in front of the camera and don't live your life, what kind of fragrance would there be in that person's song?" He emphasized, "Members also need to play and become human beings for good content to come out," stating, "That way, an individual's personality can universally resonate."

He concluded by saying, "We, as singers, have many flaws and shortcomings, but I believe that our 'chaotic nature' and various things will contribute to what we create," seeking the understanding of fans.
