Director Yoon Ga-eun Wins 'Female Filmmaker of the Year' Award…Achievement Award to Shim Jae-myung and Acting Award to Han Ye-ri

Director Yoon Ga-eun, who directed the film 〈The World of Love〉, has been selected as the recipient of the 'Female Filmmaker of the Year' award, as announced by the Women Filmmakers Association on the 9th.

The Female Filmmaker Award is given to female filmmakers who have achieved remarkable accomplishments over the year.

The Women Filmmakers Association highly praised Director Yoon for creating a valuable moment that will be remembered in the Korean film industry through her film 〈The World of Love〉, which was released last October.

The film 〈The World of Love〉 tells the story of a high school girl named Joo-in (played by Seo Soo-bin) who begins to receive mysterious notes after she alone abstains from a petition against the release of a sexual assault perpetrator, which all students participated in.

The Achievement Award was given to Shim Jae-myung, the CEO of Myung Film. Shim was recognized for her contributions as a first-generation female producer in Korea, having established a stable production system and contributed to the founding of the Women Filmmakers Association, producing films such as 〈The Contact〉, 〈Waikiki Brothers〉, and 〈Joint Security Area /JSA〉.

The Acting Award was awarded to Han Ye-ri for her role in 〈Spring Night〉, while the Newcomer Acting Award went to Seo Soo-bin for her role in 〈The World of Love〉.

The Director Award will be given to Lee Ran-hee for 〈The Final Semester〉, and the Screenplay Award will go to Lim Na-moo for 〈People and Meat〉. The representative of Dorothy, the production company behind 〈People and Meat〉, will also be recognized with the Producer Award.

The Kang Soo-yeon Award, which is given to filmmakers who have contributed to the development of Korean cinema regardless of gender, has been awarded to actor Yoo Ji-tae for his efforts to expand the base of independent films.

The 'Female Filmmaker of the Year' award ceremony will be held on the 16th at Indie Space in Seoul, hosted by actress Moon So-ri.
