In the era of AI, the Walt Disney Company is taking action by partnering with the developer of 'ChatGPT'.

The developer of 'ChatGPT', OpenAI, announced the agreement with the Walt Disney Company on December 11 (local time) through its official website. The essence of the contract is that videos utilizing Disney's iconic characters can be created in OpenAI's video production platform, Sora.

According to OpenAI's announcement, for the next three years, users will be able to create short social videos using over 200 Disney characters in Sora. Disney may select some of these to be available on its OTT platform, Disney+. Disney is making a $1 billion equity investment in OpenAI, and OpenAI will provide Disney with its API and ChatGPT. Both parties are committed to protecting creators' rights in the use of AI through this process.

OpenAI has stated that characters available for fans to use in their creations include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Lilo, Stitch, Ariel, Belle, Beast, Cinderella, Baymax, Simba, Mufasa, as well as characters from the worlds of Encanto, Frozen, Inside Out, Moana, Monsters, Inc., Toy Story, Up, and Zootopia. Iconic animated or illustrated versions of Marvel and Lucasfilm characters such as Black Panther, Captain America, Deadpool, Groot, Iron Man, Loki, Thor, Thanos, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia, Mandalorian, Stormtrooper, and Yoda are limited to those versions, and the actual appearance or voice of live actors is not permitted.
