CGV, ‘Avatar: The Way of Fire’ SCREENX·4DX·IMAX and All Formats 3D Release

CGV announced on the 15th that it will screen the highly anticipated film ‘Avatar: The Way of Fire’ in 3D across all special formats including SCREENX, 4DX, ULTRA 4DX, IMAX, and Dolby Atmos this winter.

During the release of the previous film ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, over 60% of all viewers at CGV watched in special theaters including 3D. In particular, the seat sales rate for major special theaters like 4DX and IMAX was more than double that of regular theaters, and the occupancy rate for 4DX and ULTRA 4DX exceeded 60%, proving their popularity. It is expected that the viewing enthusiasm for ‘Avatar: The Way of Fire’ will continue to center around special theaters.

The SCREENX 3D version of ‘Avatar: The Way of Fire’ will be screened at 10 SCREENX theaters nationwide, including CGV Yongsan SCREENX, Wangsimni, and Hongdae. The front displays sharp 3D images vividly, while the side wing screens seamlessly extend the view, providing a comfortable immersive experience without distraction. The combination of the vivid 3D depth and the expanded screen that envelops the peripheral vision allows the audience to feel as if they are standing in the middle of the film's space.

In the 4DX 3D version, the depth and scale of the 3D images come to life right before your eyes, and the motion chairs along with environmental effects unique to 4DX such as wind, water, and air create an experiential viewing experience where the flow of the film can be felt physically. In battle and flight scenes, the motion and vibration effects are intricately linked to the visuals, providing a unique immersion that combines the ‘fun of watching’ in 3D with the ‘fun of experiencing’ in 4DX. The 4DX 3D version of ‘Avatar: The Way of Fire’ will be screened at 30 4DX theaters nationwide, including CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall, Wangsimni, Yeongdeungpo, and Cheongdam Cinecity. The ULTRA 4DX 3D version, which combines 4DX and SCREENX, will be available at 9 ULTRA 4DX theaters nationwide.

The IMAX 3D version of ‘Avatar: The Way of Fire’ delivers the film's scale and depth more grandly with its large screen and clear image quality. The vast landscapes of Pandora and the aerial battle scenes crossing land and sea with the new tribe of ‘Fire’ unfold vividly, providing a refreshing immersive experience unique to the ultra-large scale. The IMAX 3D version of ‘Avatar: The Way of Fire’ has recorded high pre-booking numbers since the reservation opened, indicating high audience expectations. IMAX 3D will be screened at 26 IMAX theaters nationwide.
