◆ The Clash of Desire and Belief, Previewed Through the Photoshoot

The Disney+ original series 〈Made in Korea〉 that will conclude in 2025 has revealed intense visuals just a day before its release. On the 23rd, Disney+ unveiled a photoshoot featuring the unique aura of the 7 lead actors through the fashion magazine 'Vogue' January issue.

This photoshoot captures the atmosphere of the drama set against the backdrop of the tumultuous 1970s in South Korea. The retro space and cool tone and manner visually represent the fierce confrontation between those chasing wealth and power and those trying to stop them.

◆ Separate Yet Together... The Aesthetics of Calculated Relationships

The highlight of the released photoshoot is the direction that emphasizes the 'relationships' between characters. Despite being solo shots, other characters appear in the frame, hinting at the intertwined narratives within the drama.

In the shot of the ambitious 'Baek Gi-tae' (Hyun Bin) aiming for the pinnacle of wealth and power, his brother and soldier 'Baek Gi-hyun' (Woo Do-hwan) appears, while in Woo Do-hwan's shot, Hyun Bin is present. Additionally, the relationship between the relentless prosecutor 'Jang Geon-young' (Jung Woo-sung) and the investigators, as well as the shots of Baek Gi-tae confronting figures from the Central Intelligence Agency (Park Yong-woo, Jung Sung-il, etc.) over a chessboard, provide a tense atmosphere. Notably, in the group shot, the 7 actors gaze in different directions, symbolically showcasing the psychology of characters with different goals and desires.
