This film is based on a Japanese novel that has sold over 1.3 million copies worldwide and has received great love. While maintaining the basic premise of a youth's love that loses memories every day, it features Korean high school students living in a seaside town, reinterpreting the characters' personalities and details with a Korean sentiment.
Choo Young-woo revealed that he was a fan of the original novel and the eponymous Japanese film even before receiving the offer to star. "I was nervous about my screen debut, but I thought the pleasant pressure was natural," he shared.
Director Kim Hye-young praised, "Choo Young-woo is the second director of 〈Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight〉" and added, "His rich acting, which expresses both boyishness and a sense of emptiness and loneliness, inspired me a lot."

Cynthia added, "It’s a calm and quiet movie, but it has a deep resonance, and I hope many viewers feel its lingering effects."
