The original author of the movie 〈My Secret〉 conveyed a heartfelt handwritten message to the audience ahead of its release in Korea.
Set to release on the 21st, 〈My Secret〉 depicts the clumsy love and friendship of five high school students who possess a special ability to see others' emotions as symbols. Based on the representative work of Yoru Sumino, who debuted in the Japanese literary world with 「I Want to Eat Your Pancreas」, the author expressed her joy in a handwritten greeting saying, "Hello! I am really happy that everyone in Korea can watch the movie 'My Secret'! Let's play together with the novel across the sea and beyond borders."
Starting to write novels in middle school and debuting in high school, Yoru Sumino is known for writing relatable stories for today's teenagers. She confessed, "I tend to be somewhat pessimistic even now, but during my teenage years, I disliked many things and was disappointed by many more." She shared, "Through the novels I encountered in the library during that time, I dreamed of this profession. I am grateful that I have lived without despair." This hints at the connection between the emotions the author felt and those experienced by the youth in the film.
'My Secret', featuring the chemistry of rising Japanese stars such as Daiken Okudaira, Natsuki Deguchi, Masaya Sano, Hinako Kikuchi, and Ikoi Hayase, will be released in Korea on January 21.
