The Netflix animated film 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 OST 'Golden' has set a new milestone by winning a Grammy Award trophy, the first in K-Pop genre history. On the other hand, Blackpink's Rosé's global hit song 'Apartment' (APT.) was nominated in three categories, including the Grammy Awards General Fields (Major Awards), but failed to win, leaving disappointment.
At the pre-event of the 68th Grammy Awards held on February 1 (local time) in Los Angeles, 'Golden' was announced as the winner of the 'Best Song Written For Visual Media' (Best Song Written For Visual Media) category. This song has achieved the remarkable feat of topping both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart simultaneously, thanks to the global popularity of the film.
This category is awarded to composers, and the team involved in the creation of 'Golden' including EJAE (EJAE), Teddy, 24, and Ideyo (Lee Yoo-han, Kwak Joong-kyu, Nam Hee-dong) received the honor. This is the first time a K-Pop composer or music producer has won a Grammy Award. While there have been instances of music engineer Hwang Byung-jun and Korean-American Young winning, the award for a pure K-Pop creator holds significant historical meaning.
Composer 24 expressed his feelings about the award, saying, "Unfortunately, I couldn't be here, but I dedicate this honor to my mentor and friend, the pioneer of K-Pop, Teddy-hyung," showing his emotion. This was a moment that demonstrated the intergenerational connection in K-Pop music production and the deep solidarity within the industry.
〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 OST and 'Golden' were nominated in a total of five categories, including the major award 'Song of the Year', 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance', but did not win in any of the other categories except for 'Best Song Written For Visual Media'.

Rosé's 'Apartment' (APT.) challenged three major categories: 'Song of the Year', 'Record of the Year', and 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance', but failed to win in all. It is unusual for a K-Pop solo artist to be nominated in major categories, and the three category nominations match the record for the most nominations for a K-Pop artist, previously set by BTS at the 65th Grammy Awards.
On this day, 'Song of the Year' was awarded to Billie Eilish's 'Wild Flower' (Wild Flower), and 'Record of the Year' went to Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther' (Luther).

Along with 'Golden' and 'Apartment' (APT.), the 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance' category also featured the HIVE's Korean-American girl group Cats Eye (KATSEYE) with 'Gabriela' (Gabriela), but the award went to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande for their performance of the movie 〈Wicked〉 OST 'Defying Gravity'. Cats Eye's nomination for 'Best New Artist' went to pop star Olivia Dean.
During the awards ceremony, Rosé and Bruno Mars left a strong impression with their opening performance of 'Apartment' (APT.), while Cats Eye performed their representative song 'Gnarly' (Gnarly) as a nominee for the rookie award. Although the activities of K-Pop artists did not lead to major award wins, it was a meaningful night that firmly established their presence on the Grammy stage.
