Sieun from the group STAYC is taking on her first musical challenge after her debut.
On the 2nd, her agency High Up Entertainment announced through an official press release that "STAYC's Sieun has been cast in the musical 'Sopyonje', which will open on April 30 at the Gwanglim Art Center BBCH Hall."
The musical 'Sopyonje' is based on Lee Cheong-jun's short story 「Sopyonje」, and it highlights the meaning of life and the value of art through the journey of a family of singers. It depicts the conflicts, choices, and reconciliation among family members mediated by pansori.
Sieun will play the role of 'Songhwa', a true artist who confronts the path and destiny she wishes to pursue. Despite numerous trials, she reaches a level of mastery through sound, embodying the emotions and messages of the work.
In particular, this work marks Sieun's first musical performance since her debut, raising expectations for how she will showcase the skills she has developed as an artist and actress on stage.
Meanwhile, the musical 'Sopyonje', featuring STAYC's Sieun, will be performed at the Gwanglim Art Center BBCH Hall from April 30 to July 19.
