'The Lonely Gourmet' Year-End Special Series 2025 to Premiere on February 9 on Wavve

According to Wavve on February 5, 〈The Lonely Gourmet 2025 Year-End SP〉 will be exclusively released on Wavve on February 9. With the simple premise of 'Inogashira Goro' enjoying meals alone, this year-end special series of 〈The Lonely Gourmet〉, which has captivated audiences across Asia for over a decade, is a road movie that crosses the representative rice-producing regions of eastern Japan, such as Niigata Prefecture and Yamagata Prefecture, on a mission to find fresh rice and ingredients for rice balls needed for the New Year party.

In particular, the highlight of this special is its unique format that combines 'recorded broadcast' and 'live broadcast' for the first time in five years. The first part of the drama proceeds as a pre-recorded road movie as usual, but after 11:30 PM, the pre-recorded drama footage switches to a live broadcast camera, and actor Yutaka Matsushige makes a direct appearance at the 'Hanayashiki' site in Asakusa, Tokyo. His scene of shouting the countdown amidst a crowd and taking a big bite of a rice ball provides an exhilarating sense of reality that transcends fiction and reality.
