Third-Generation Korean Resident in Japan Oh Seung-ho's Novel Adaptation Film 'Bomb', Set to Release in Korea in March

The film 〈Bomb〉, based on the bestseller by third-generation Korean resident in Japan Oh Seung-ho, has confirmed its domestic release in March. 〈Bomb〉 is a suspense thriller depicting the breathless confrontation between a madman who predicts a series of bombings in the heart of Tokyo and the Metropolitan Police Department's investigation team pursuing him. It has garnered significant attention in Japan, based on the solid narrative of the original novel, which was a nominee for the Naoki Prize and ranked first in 'This Mystery is Amazing'.

Released in Japan last October, 〈Bomb〉 topped the box office, achieving an overwhelming performance with 3 billion yen in revenue and attracting 2.12 million viewers. Additionally, it swept 12 major awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor, at the 49th Japanese Academy Awards, gaining recognition for both its popularity and artistic quality. The original author, Oh Seung-ho, has established himself as a leading figure in Japanese mystery literature, selling over 200,000 copies with this work 〈Bomb〉, following his debut work 〈The Time of Morality〉, which won the Edogawa Rampo Prize.

The actors' performances are also a highlight. The mysterious man 'Suzuki', who predicts the bombings, is played by Jiro Sato from 〈The Strange House〉, delivering a uniquely mad performance. Yuki Yamada from 〈Tokyo Revengers〉 portrays the detective 'Ruike', who engages in a psychological battle with Suzuki, depicting a relentless pursuit. The two types of first posters released alongside the announcement of the film show the smiling Suzuki and the penetrating gaze of Ruike, foreshadowing the intense battle of wits that will unfold in the film.

Directed by Akira Nagai and featuring Jiro Sato, Yuki Yamada, and others, the film 〈Bomb〉 is set to be released in Korean theaters in March, meeting audiences soon.
