The boy group Stray Kids has made history by winning 4 awards at the '40th Japan Gold Disc Awards', setting a record for the most awards won by a foreign artist.
◆Record Achievement of 4 Awards for Foreign Artists
Their agency, JYP Entertainment, announced on the 12th that Stray Kids lifted a total of 4 trophies in the Asia section at the 40th Japan Gold Disc Awards hosted by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Stray Kids swept the categories of 'Artist of the Year', 'Album of the Year', 'Best 3 Albums', and 'Music Video of the Year', taking home the most awards among foreign artists participating in this ceremony. The Japan Gold Disc Awards is a prestigious event that strictly counts the sales performance of albums and videos over the past year to select winners in each category.
◆Overwhelming Album Sales and Unstoppable Global Progress
The key to this 4-award achievement is their third mini album 'Hollow' released locally and the live Blu-ray capturing the local offline fan event. Stray Kids, who achieved the remarkable feat of 8 consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. and dominated the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) annual global chart, has reaffirmed their strong influence as a 'global top artist' in Japan through this award. They will continue their momentum by holding their 6th official fan meeting 'Stay in Our Little House' at Incheon Inspire Arena on the 28th and 29th of this month, and on the 4th and 5th of next month, with plans to headline major music festivals in the U.S. and Brazil in June and September.

◆Shining Achievements of K-pop Artists like Jennie and TWS
Meanwhile, at this ceremony, K-pop singers, in addition to Stray Kids, showed remarkable performances across all categories. BLACKPINK's Jennie won the 'Song of the Year by Download' award in the digital category for her solo song 'Like Jennie', and the Netflix movie 〈K-pop Demon Hunters〉 OST 'Golden' won 2 awards. Additionally, HYBE's global girl group TWS won 2 awards for Best New Artist, and next-generation K-pop contenders like TWS, ILY:1, Play B, ENHYPEN, Seventeen, and Tomorrow X Together were also recognized, reaffirming the strong status of K-pop in the Japanese music market.
