Kim Nam-gil & Lee Yoo-mi Become Vigilantes, Confined Villains in Nightmares Instead of Prison... Confirmed Appearance in SBS Drama 'Nightmare'

Kim Nam-gil and Lee Yoo-mi are set to unleash the 'Nightmare' that will imprison villains.

On the 18th, SBS announced the confirmation of the production of the new drama <Nightmare>, scheduled to air in 2027. <Nightmare> tells the story of vigilantes who confine villains that cannot be punished by the law in a ‘nightmare’ rather than prison. The narrative, crossing the boundary between dreams and reality, promises a fantastic implementation of justice that has garnered anticipation.

Kim Nam-gil takes on the role of detective Kim Tae-i. Having returned to the Southern District after a long undercover stint, Kim has changed in character, speech, and lifestyle; his determination to catch villains, however, remains unchanged. Equipped with an animalistic sense and rawness, Kim Tae-i collaborates with the vigilantes designing the nightmare to directly eliminate criminals outside the law.

Lee Yoo-mi plays Kim Tae-i’s colleague, the dedicated victim officer of the Southern District, Jang Kyu-eun. In reality, she has a timid and bashful personality, but in dreams, she transforms into a completely different 'Nightmare Designer.' She appears in a decadent and brutal form in the dreams of villains who evade facing punishment, inflicting terrible pain on them.

The production team stated, "Through the setting of imprisoning criminals that cannot be confined in the real prison in the ‘Nightmare’ jail, we aim to sound the alarm and deliver a hell they cannot escape from until death." The unique theme of cooperation between the dangerous detective and the mysterious nightmare designer has drawn interest in how Kim Nam-gil and Lee Yoo-mi will portray this on-screen.

The drama <Nightmare> will inflict the harshest punishment upon the villains mocking the law and is set to air on SBS in 2027.
