Actor Kim Nam-gil has stepped up to support his close friend Ha Jung-woo's successful return to the small screen.
On the 11th, tvN announced that Kim Nam-gil will make a special appearance in the new weekend drama 〈Mad Concrete Dreams〉 (hereafter 〈Concrete Owner〉) to showcase his strong loyalty to Ha Jung-woo. Set to premiere on the 14th, 〈Concrete Owner〉 depicts the suspenseful story of a struggling landlord who, burdened by debt, gets involved in a fake kidnapping scheme to protect his family and property. This work marks Ha Jung-woo's return to TV dramas after 19 years and has generated significant buzz since its production stage.
Kim Nam-gil's appearance was made possible due to his deep friendship with Ha Jung-woo. In the drama, he plays 'Kim Kyun', a strong detective and the brother-in-law of the protagonist Ki Soo-jong (Ha Jung-woo), playing a crucial role in the key incident that opens the story. Kim Kyun is a supportive younger brother to his sister Kim Sun (Im Soo-jung) and shares a special bond with his brother-in-law, treating him like a brother. Notably, when his brother-in-law faces the crisis of losing his building at auction, he activates his detective instincts to track down the mastermind behind the incident, significantly raising the tension in the story.
The production team reported that Kim Nam-gil has demonstrated a strong presence that goes beyond a special appearance, leading the flow of the drama from the first broadcast. With a glamorous lineup including Ha Jung-woo and Im Soo-jung, the tvN 〈Mad Concrete Dreams〉 will premiere on the 14th at 9:10 PM.
