
A man suddenly falls from a newspaper photographer to a convict and starts a new life as a private detective. 〈R.J. Decker〉 is a crime drama that depicts the protagonist's journey to reclaim his place as he solves bizarre incidents while arriving in disgrace in South Florida. Once a promising newspaper photographer, ‘R.J. Decker’ loses everything due to a past incident and is imprisoned, but after being released, he faces a turning point in his life as a private detective. He tracks unpredictable cases with the help of his ex-lover, a former journalist, her partner who is a homicide detective, and an unidentified benefactor. The mysterious benefactor intertwined with his past adds tension as both his strongest ally and a dangerous entity that could push him back into crisis.

This work, based on Carl Hiaasen's novel ‘Double Whammy’, is directed by Paul McGuigan, known for 〈Filmstar in Liverpool〉 and 〈Lucky Number Slevin〉, and the screenplay and executive production is managed by Robert Doherty, who is known for having scripted the entire season of the American version of ‘Elementary’. Additionally, a solid cast including Scott Speedman, Zaina Lee Otis, Bevin Bru, Kevin Rankin, and Adelaide Clemens presents strong characters. Notably, when it premiered on ABC, it recorded the highest viewership ratings for a 10 PM drama in five years, generating excited anticipation. The unpredictable investigative drama 〈R.J. Decker〉, featuring a man who erases his past and returns to the center of the case, is now available to watch on Disney+, with a total of nine episodes released weekly.
