New York’s Guggenheim Museum—an epicenter of modern art—was filled with the music of BTS.
Returning with their regular album, “Arirang,” BTS appeared on the 26th and 27th on the U.S. NBC 〈The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon〉(hereafter, “The Jimmy Fallon Show”), delivering overwhelming performances and witty, fun banter.
This broadcast was more than just promoting a new song—it was a showcase of “K-content” that naturally blended Korean culture. The members introduced Korea’s traditional floor-sitting lifestyle and presented the host, Jimmy Fallon, with slippers they had prepared themselves for him. Jimmy Fallon put them on on the spot, creating a homey, comfortable atmosphere. In particular, at the seats in the Guggenheim Museum where the performance took place, cushions were placed instead of chairs, allowing audience members to experience the Korean floor-sitting culture and enjoy the show.
On the stage of the title track, “SWIM,” which used the entire museum as its setting, the members made their way down along a spiral passageway, showcasing artistic movements. The performance, where wave-like lighting and sleek choreography came together, perfectly visualized the song’s message of “love for life.” In the following track, “2.0,” the members also drew roars of cheering from local audiences with a performance that highlighted meticulous control of tempo and intensity.
In an interview, BTS expressed their feelings about finally coming together as a complete group—after 4 years and 8 months—with the short yet powerful word “finally.” The members said, “When the members are right next to you, your confidence definitely grows,” revealing deep trust in one another. They also expressed confidence about the world tour soon to be held, saying, “Every segment will be a secret weapon, and it will be a spine-tingling stage.”
