
Nongshim at the 27th Jeonju International Film Festival announced on the 22nd that it will present a short film to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of the national representative ramen brand “Shin Ramyun.”
The works unveiled at this festival include director Oh Seyeon’s “Before the Ramen Starts Boiling” and director Kim Taeyeop’s “When the Ramen Drops”, for a total of two films. These short films are scheduled to be officially screened three times throughout the festival period starting from the 2nd of next month. A Nongshim representative explained the planning intent, saying, “We captured a warm message on screen that Shin Ramyun is a symbolic presence that has shared the nation’s joys and sorrows for a long time.”
In addition to the short film screenings, a variety of in-person events will also be prepared for visitors. From the 29th of this month to the 5th of next month, during the film festival period, Nongshim plans to operate a Shin Ramyun pop-up store on Jeonju Film Street to offer visitors a unique experience.
It also establishes the “Nongshim Shin Ramyun Award” to encourage promising directors who will lead the future of the Korean film industry, and will hold an awards ceremony. A Nongshim official emphasized, “We will take the lead in widely promoting the strength and charm of Korean culture by closely collaborating with domestic culture and arts sectors.”
