Baeksang Arts Awards 62nd: Naver Popularity Award Vote Kicks Off on the 24th…79 Male and Female Nominees Go Head-to-Head

The Naver Popularity Award vote for “Baeksang Arts Awards 62nd with Gucci,” the only comprehensive arts awards show in Korea, will begin in full on the 24th.

With the Popularity Award vote now underway, on April 24 Baeksang Arts Awards’ secretariat announced that it will hold the Naver Popularity Award vote for 12 days—from 12:00 p.m. on April 24 to 11:59 p.m. on May 5. The voting will be conducted exclusively through Naver, Korea’s leading portal, and for each Naver account, a free vote can be cast once per day for each of the male and female categories. The voting tickets used are reissued based on midnight each day, allowing participants to join every day.

Among a total of 79 outstanding male and female nominees, this year’s Naver Popularity Award will select one winner each—one male and one female—with the highest vote totals—among all candidates who made it into categories such as the Broadcasting sector’s Best Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, New Actor/Actress, and Variety Awards, as well as the Film sector’s Best Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, and New Actor/Actress, including candidates recognized in the Theater and Musical acting categories. This year’s nominees include 41 men and 38 women. In addition, during the voting period, a special event will also be held: if you post an authorized photo at the official Naver lounge, you can receive ceremony viewing tickets (one per person) through a drawing.

A grand start at Coex on May 8—The main ceremony for “Baeksang Arts Awards 62nd with Gucci,” which covers the breadth of popular culture arts, will be held in a grand fashion at 7:50 p.m. on May 8 at the Coex D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Broadcaster Shin Dong-yup, singer and actress Suzy, and actor Park Bo-gum will serve as MCs and lead the awards show. The excitement on site will be broadcast simultaneously live through the JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4 channels, and online it is also expected to be available as a digital exclusive live broadcast via Naver.
