“Return After 9 Years” IOI Unveils Tracklist for 3rd Mini Album “LOOP”…Filled With Self-Composed Songs

To mark their 10th debut anniversary, the project group IOI (I.O.I) has dramatically reunited after nine years, and has revealed a new album tracklist that significantly heightens member participation, kicking off a full-fledged comeback countdown.

Mini 3rd Album Tracklist Revealed in Full IOI (Im Nayoung, Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jeong Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yoonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kim Do-yeon, and Jeon Somi) posted the tracklist image for their third mini album, “I.O.I : LOOP,” via their official SNS channel at midnight on the 27th. The album’s title track, which captures the moment when emotions that had been frozen for a decade finally connect again, was selected as “갑자기.” Expressed with a delicate touch, this synth-pop piece conveys a wave of longing that comes without warning, and with lyrics personally contributed by member Jeon Somi, it authentically infused the bittersweet feeling of meeting those connections once again.

Tracks That Showcase the Members’ Musical Skills and Memories Beyond the title track, the members add extra meaning to the 10th anniversary by participating in songwriting and composing across the album. A total of six songs are included: the pop dance track “IOI (Where My Girls At)” with Jeon Somi’s involvement; “IF I,” which Yoo Yoonjung unfolds with a rock sound; “그때 우리 지금” (“Then, Us Now”), which links to the story of Chungha’s previous activity song “소나기”; and “SPF 100+” in the afrobeats genre. In particular, the final track “웃으며 안녕” is an archive track produced by singer and producer Jinyoung, and is scheduled to deeply move fans as it preserves the members’ fresh voices recorded back in 2016.

Pre-Release Track Drops and Asia Tour Begins As Kang Mina and Joo Gyeongkyung are unable to join due to unavoidable schedules, IOI will be active as a nine-member group. They will first ignite comeback enthusiasm by releasing a pre-release track on May 4. Then, at 6:00 p.m. on May 19, they will officially release their third mini album and begin full-scale activities. In addition, from May 29 to May 31, for three days, the group will hold a solo concert at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul to kick off their Asia tour, and plans to share a meaningful time with fans who have been waiting a long time for their reunion.
