The group NewJeans appears set to begin a new musical journey. Reports have surfaced about recording in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In a statement reported through multiple outlets on the 27th, the agency ADOR said, regarding sightings of the group’s visit to Copenhagen and rumors about studio reservations, that it is "part of a pre-production process to capture NewJeans’ new musical narrative." Recently, online communities circulated speculation that between the 13th and 17th, schedules reserved under the name 'ADOR' at a recording studio in Copenhagen and members’ local sightings had begun, suggesting the group may have already started working on a new album. In response, ADOR added, "The members are currently preparing for activities according to their own best-fit conditions and schedules, and we will formally share details about future plans at the best time," raising anticipation among fans worldwide.

Dispute that shook the K-pop scene and the members’ conflicting situations Earlier, ADOR and the NewJeans members went through a prolonged legal conflict over whether to terminate their exclusive contracts. In October 2025, the court sided with ADOR in cases such as ADOR’s lawsuit seeking a confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contract. Then, in November of that same year, Haerin and Hyein returned to their former agency in a decisive move to prepare for a renewed leap, and in December, Hanni did the same. Meanwhile, Minji, whose status has not yet been determined, remains unclear as to whether she will join or withdraw. In particular, regarding Daniel, who had declared independent activities, ADOR notified him of the termination of his exclusive contract, and filed a penalty and damages lawsuit worth 43.1 billion won against Daniel, his family, and former CEO Min Hee-jin—showing a starkly different set of actions.

Worldwide attention-grabbing mega hit records Although the group lineup has faced major changes, NewJeans’ footprint in the K-pop market has been overwhelming. Right after debut, each song they released—such as 'Hype Boy,' 'Ditto,' 'OMG,' and 'Super Shy'—sparked a sensation, achieving major milestones including topping the U.S. Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200' for the shortest period among K-pop girl groups and repeatedly entering the Billboard 'Hot 100.' In addition, they swept major domestic music awards and sustained long-lasting popularity on the UK Official Charts and Spotify’s global charts, drawing explosive reactions worldwide. With NewJeans standing at a crossroads of restructuring, industry attention is focused on how the group will carry forward its formidable global reputation after pre-production in Copenhagen.
