The highly anticipated film 〈Hope〉 has taken shape through its international trailer.

Director Na Hong-jin Takes the Helm for the First Time, and Debuts at Cannes Following 〈Goksung〉, the film 〈Hope〉 marks Na Hong-jin’s first work as a director, and with its dazzling cast, it has been generating a great deal of buzz. Having premiered worldwide through its entry into the Competition section of the Cannes International Film Festival, 〈Hope〉 later unveiled its international trailer on May 18, and at last, the film’s mystery has been revealed.

The Devastated Village of Hopo Port and an Unknown Presence The trailer begins by showing Hopo Port, a village left completely in ruins. It then depicts scenes of Seong-ae (Jeong Ho-yeon) and Beom-seok (Hwang Jung-min) patrolling the village with firearms, as well as a sequence in which a village youth, Seong-gi (Jo In-sung), and his group patrol the forest—only to encounter a presence that is not human.

A Stellar Global Cast and a Summer 2026 Release Starring Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Jeong Ho-yeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender, and more, 〈Hope〉 is set to open in Korea in summer 2026.
