〈Hope〉 has confirmed its North American release after making its way to the Cannes Film Festival, signaling its global comeback.
Director Nah Hong-jin’s new film 〈Hope〉 tells the story of Beom-seok, the director of the Hope Port office in the Demilitarized Zone, who hears from local youths that a tiger has appeared. With the entire village thrown into crisis, the narrative begins when they encounter an unbelievable reality. Director Nah Hong-jin’s much-anticipated new film 〈Hope〉, which he brought out for the first time in 10 years, drew attention for its dazzling cast, including Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Jeong Ho-yeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender.
〈Hope〉, which announced its invitation to the Cannes International Film Festival’s International Competition section this year, revealed its North American release plans on April 13 by signing a North American distribution partnership with the film distributor NEON. NEON previously introduced North American audiences to six consecutive Palme d’Or-winning Cannes films starting in 2019, including the distribution of 〈Parasite〉, 〈Titan〉, 〈Triangle of Sadness〉, 〈Anatomy of a Fall〉, 〈Anora〉, and 〈Just Like That—As If It Were an Accident〉. With this 〈Hope〉, it again proves it’s a release that audiences worldwide are looking forward to.
After being unveiled at Cannes as a world premiere, 〈Hope〉 is set to land in Korean theaters this summer.
