Actor Jin Seon-gyu shared his thoughts on playing a father hopelessly devoted to his daughter in 〈Husbands in Action〉, joking, "Right now, I'm basically my daughter's servant."
In an interview with Cineplay on the afternoon of the 22nd at an undisclosed location in Seoul's Jongno District, Jin Seon-gyu discussed Netflix's 〈Husbands in Action〉. Released on Netflix on the 19th, 〈Husbands in Action〉 is a comedy action film about an ex-husband and a woman's current husband who reluctantly join forces in an unpredictable rescue operation after a criminal organization kidnaps her. In the film, Jin plays Chung-sik, an ace narcotics detective who busts every case he takes on; although he divorced his wife Si-nae (Kang Han-na), he is hopelessly devoted to his daughter.
In the interview, Jin said, "Chung-sik and I are similar in that we're tough on the outside but soft on the inside. For example, that shows in his love for his daughter," and added, "Right now, I'm basically my daughter's servant," drawing laughs from the room. Describing the character he played, Jin explained, "Professionally, he's an ace detective with sharp instincts who can take down several people at once, but outside of work, he's a bit of a bumbler. He's afraid of blood and afraid of heights," and noted, "I wanted to show his human, down-to-earth qualities."
The film 〈Husbands in Action〉 was released on Netflix on the 19th and is currently streaming.
