A Perfect Marriage of Food and the Screen, Capturing a Decade of Philosophy

A domestic standout culinary film festival where visual indulgence and gastronomic inspiration intersect, '2026 Busan Food Film Festa' will lift the curtain on an overwhelming spectacle on and around 'Cinema of Film Center' in Busan on the 26th. Now celebrating its 10th year, the event has evolved beyond a simple festival into a cultural experiment that blurs the boundaries between the screen and the dining table.

The opening ceremony is free for the first 1,000 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis, and the opening will be kicked off by the audacious melodies of the fusion traditional music band 'Nallari and Jangyi'. Among the 17 masterpieces that will decorate the screen, the opening film is 'The Last Cannoli,' which captures the decline of a Sicilian pastry shop and lingering nostalgia. It projects the philosophy of food that spans eras onto the screen.

Sensing side events designed to dominate viewers’ senses—such as 'Food Terrace' and 'Portuck Table'—are lined up without a gap. Jo Yoo-jang, head of the Culture Bureau of Busan Metropolitan City, said, "The essence of a gastronomic experience that expands citizens’ everyday lives and the cultural fabric." He underscored the heavy meaning of the 10th anniversary.
