MBC Enters Short-Form Drama Market With 'The Good Wife Is Over' Releasing Today

MBC is entering the short-form drama market with its first series, 〈The Good Wife Is Over〉, which will be released worldwide today (30th) at 11 a.m. on the global short-form platform Dramabox.

〈The Good Wife Is Over〉 is a revenge drama that follows a protagonist who has lived as an ideal homemaker as she brings down the husband who betrayed her and reclaims control of her life. Using themes including adultery, betrayal and chaebol, the series promises a fast-paced narrative. Joo Seongwoo, a master of serial dramas who directed MBC's A Hundred-Year Inheritance and The Legendary Witch, directed the project and delivered taut, brisk storytelling. Joo said the series marks a meaningful attempt by MBC to expand into new platforms and formats, and he invited viewers to tune in.

The cast features Lee Sia and Ahn Wooyeon, with Baek Siyeon and newcomer Jeong Woojae also joining the series. Lee Sia, who showed a wide acting spectrum in Won-gyeong, plays Kang Hye-na, a woman seeking revenge after her husband's betrayal, delivering an emotionally resonant performance. Ahn Wooyeon plays Lee Jun, who assists Kang Hye-na; Ahn, who made a strong impression in the drama Doctor Shin, adds both romance and tension to the drama. Baek Siyeon and newcomer Jeong Woojae will add rich charm to the series.
