Kim Sung-kyu joins SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 〈Agent Kim Reactivated〉 as a covert North Korean operative, setting up a major new conflict.
The second episode traced Kim Bu-jang's past as he searched for his suddenly missing daughter Minji (Seo Soo-min), while Ri Eung-ryeong (Lee Jae-yong), chief of North Korea's bureau for espionage operations against the South, pursued him. Ri summons Park Kang-seong, the younger brother of Park Young-gwang, who was once called the top warrior and was known as "No. 66," and orders him to eliminate the fake No. 66 (Kim Bu-jang) in the South. Determined to reclaim his brother’s number, Park Kang-seong accepts the mission and secretly infiltrates South Korea.
While tracking Kim Bu-jang’s whereabouts, Park Kang-seong obtains the police station address where Park Jin-chul (Yoon Kyung-ho), who had been traveling with Kim Bu-jang, is being held and heads to the scene. As Park Kang-seong enters the police station and Seong Han-su (Choi Dae-hoon) passes by, a brief encounter between them creates an unsettling tension, heightening anticipation for the fateful confrontations and shifting relationships to come.
From his first scene, Kim Sung-kyu pairs a restrained performance with a chilling presence, hinting at the hard-edged history behind his expressionless face. He conveys the character's mix of longing for his brother, anger and steely resolve through his gaze alone, deepening the drama's tension. The SBS Friday–Saturday drama 〈Agent Kim Reactivated〉, which teases a full-scale pursuit involving So Ji-sub, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
