Since its July 29 opening last month, 〈Spider-Man: Brand New Day〉 has filled more than 90% of seats in major SCREENX and 4DX auditoriums across South Korea during its first weekend, extending strong momentum in premium formats.
On the 4th, CGV said the title set a record for advance SCREENX bookings ahead of release, and immediate post-opening demand produced sold-out screenings across multiple showtimes. The CGV Golden Egg Index, which reflects real audience praise, is holding at 97%. The film has also posted exceptional results overseas: in major markets including the United Kingdom, India, Australia, Mexico, France, Germany, Taiwan and Thailand, both SCREENX and 4DX formats recorded their highest-ever openings on opening weekend.
In particular, Spider-Man’s soaring web-swinging action through the heart of New York has resonated strongly in the premium formats. SCREENX’s 270-degree panoramic screen extends the sense of depth onto the side walls, and 4DX’s range of environmental effects—designed to simulate aerial gliding—has drawn enthusiastic reactions from viewers, who say "it feels like you’ve stepped into the movie" and "it’s like experiencing the action firsthand."
Jang Ji-yeon, head of CGV’s content operations team, said, "After setting a pre-release booking record, the film has continued to perform strongly in premium formats after opening. Audience satisfaction among those who experienced Spider-Man’s action in SCREENX and 4DX is very high, and we expect steady demand for special-format screenings to continue."
The action blockbuster 〈Spider-Man: Brand New Day〉, which tells the story of Peter Parker—forgotten by all—confronting a mysterious enemy who knows his identity, is now playing nationwide in CGV SCREENX, 4DX and other premium-format auditoriums.
