TUIDE, a rookie girl group signed to ABD, a label under HYBE, released audio snippets from their first mini album [TUNE & PLAY], including the title track.
On Aug. 17, TUIDE — Seo Hee, Seo Yeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Se-a and Lee Hanee — posted a highlight medley video for its first mini album [TUNE & PLAY] on HYBE Labels' official YouTube channel. Instead of a lavish set, the video captures the seven members' choreography in silhouette under lights, a direction that puts focus on the performance and the music.
The title track, 'SUN KISS,' is rooted in 'Soultronic,' the genre TUIDE has adopted as its signature sound. It combines soul sensibility with electronic sounds and is characterized by a rhythmic beat and a simply repeating hook.
Other tracks include 'GRLS,' a UK garage song that was pre-released and landed on YouTube's 'Popular Rising Music'; 'ABD,' which layers a hip-hop groove and lo-fi textures onto 1990s R&B and soul; 'Echo,' which alternates deep house with uptempo classic house; and 'Flip-Flop Girl,' which emphasizes a relaxed rhythmic feel.
Producing duo GroovyRoom oversaw all tracks on the debut EP. They worked with musicians including Jin Choi, Guaca, Boycold and Dalchong to realize a variety of genres — soul, house and garage — on a single record.
TUIDE's debut mini album [TUNE & PLAY] will be officially released on Aug. 24 at 6 p.m.
