Apple TV's flagship spy series 〈Slow Horses〉 will premiere its first episode on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Apple also released stills featuring the main cast and the season's tense mood on Sept. 15, a day before the premiere.

Based on the novel of the same name, which won the Crime Writers' Association's CWA Gold Dagger Award, 〈Slow Horses〉 follows Slough House, a reassignment unit for agents cast out of the U.K.'s MI5. Season 6 centers on a spy war triggered by senior MI5 official Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas), in which the Slough House agents are drawn into a deadly game of revenge.

The first episode spotlights River (Jack Lowden), who is preparing for his grandfather's funeral, and Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), the Slough House chief, who starts digging into the death of a former Slough House operative. The newly released stills show Jackson Lamb, River and Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung), and capture an uneasy atmosphere between Jackson and Diana as they face each other at River's grandfather's funeral.

The cast includes Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Christopher Chung, Jonathan Pryce, Hugo Weaving and Olivia Cooke. Adam Randall directed the season, and Gaby Chiappe adapted it.

Comprising six episodes, 〈Slow Horses〉 season 6 premieres on Sept. 16 and will release new episodes every Wednesday through Oct. 21. It will be available to watch on Apple TV and on TVing's Apple TV brand hub.
