TVING’s ‘One-of-a-Kind Romance’ premieres Nov. 9 — can it deliver a twist after stalking trauma?

Confirmed for simultaneous release on three global platforms, with Shin Hyun-soo and Kang Na-eon completing the cast

TVING, one of South Korea’s leading over-the-top streaming platforms, is rolling out a new original series this fall aimed squarely at viewers’ emotions. Set to premiere Nov. 9, ‘One-of-a-Kind Romance’ will move beyond the predictable formula of a romantic comedy to deliver an absorbing story about wounded souls finding redemption.

The series follows an ordinary job seeker who gets by working a string of part-time jobs before landing, almost by accident, a position as the manager of South Korea’s biggest top star. The characters’ layered stories are a particular draw. Kim Hyun-jin plays Tak Moo-yi, a top actor who hides the devastating trauma of being stalked behind the glamorous lights, promising a deeply emotional performance. Park Soo-young plays Gong Yoo-il, a woman who holds on to her optimism despite the grind of everyday life and completes a healing romance by embracing Tak Moo-yi’s wounds.

A lineup of acclaimed supporting actors will also add tension and energy to the series. Shin Hyun-soo transforms into Kang Hee-soo, a star chef who commands the public’s attention, adding variety to the story. Kang Na-eon plays Joo Da-hong, a fellow actor who secretly harbors feelings for Tak Moo-yi and anchors one side of the tangled love triangle.

The series will target the global market at the same time as its domestic audience, underscoring the growing stature of Korean content. It will reach viewers worldwide through TVING, Asia’s largest online video service Viu and Japan’s major platform ABEMA. With its solid story and appealing cast, ‘One-of-a-Kind Romance’ will be watched closely to see whether it can shake up global charts in the second half of the year.
