Two couples shed the 'lifelong single' label as arrows point in different directions

SBS Plus and ENA's real dating program 'I Am Solo' formed two couples—Young-ho and Sun-ja, and Young-chul and Jeong-suk—in its Season 33 special for lifelong singles, pushing the combined viewership rating back above 4%.

According to Nielsen Korea on the 1st, the episode of 'I Am Solo' that aired on the 30th of last month recorded a combined rating of 4.14% across the two channels. That was a 0.232-percentage-point increase from the previous episode's 3.908%, as the lifelong singles' final choices drew viewers' attention.

The episode's central event, the final selection, saw Young-ho and Sun-ja become the first couple on the strength of their deep trust. Jeong-suk, who received courtship from both Young-chul and Gwang-su, ultimately chose Young-chul after much deliberation, forming the second couple.

But several feelings went unanswered. Young-su's direct pursuit of Hyeon-suk and Young-sik's courtship of Young-sook ultimately drew no response. Young-sook, in particular, gave up her final selection, saying, "I worry that I could leave a good person hurt." Sang-cheol, Young-ja and Ok-sun also declined to choose, bringing the season to a grounded conclusion. Gwang-su, who had devoted his feelings to Jeong-suk, wrapped up his journey without dwelling on the outcome, saying he found meaning in having expressed his sincerity.
