'Bitch X Rich' Spinoff Takes a Turn: Identity of New Queen to Be Revealed Next Year

Power Reshuffled as New Battle for the Throne Begins

'Bitch X Rich', which opened a new chapter for school thrillers, is expanding its sprawling universe. Why Not Media, the production company, said Dec. 6 that it is moving ahead with production of the spinoff series 'Bitch X Rich: Royal Camp', which is slated for release next year.

The original series, 'Bitch X Rich', delivered a tightly drawn portrait of the chilling power struggle among students at an elite school and successfully established two seasons in 2023 and 2025. The new 'Royal Camp' is a thriller about students brought together by a single goal — transferring to the main school — and their unvarnished desires and battle for survival. The series promises even higher-stakes tension.

The cast leading the series has also drawn attention. Hong Ye-ji will play Moon Ji-won, a fierce character who loses everything overnight and throws herself into 'Royal Camp,' marking a dramatic transformation for the actress. Miyeon of the group (G)I-DLE has been cast as Cha Se-mi, the new queen of Bitch X Rich, and is set to engage in a suffocating confrontation with Moon Ji-won.

The supporting characters have compelling stories of their own. Hyunsuk, formerly of the group CIX, will play Seo Yi-joon, a chaebol heir who commands immense wealth and power, adding weight to the drama. Actor Kim Min-ki will portray Seo Dong-hwa, Moon Ji-won's reliable ally and childhood friend, who once represented South Korea in tennis, rounding out the series' web of multifaceted relationships.

The creative team further bolsters confidence in the project. Writer Oh Je-ra, known for her sharp prose, is penning the script, while director Park Bong-seop, who demonstrated an exceptional visual sense through the drama 'Eve' and the film 'Strange Candy Store Zenitendo', will direct. Viewers will be watching closely to see the compelling yet brutal teen thriller they create.
