'Candy DJ' bids a graceful farewell, signaling a new leap as an actor
Actress 'Park Ha-sun' is officially stepping down from SBS PowerFM's 'Park Ha-sun's CineTown', where she has connected with listeners every morning for the past six years.
Blitzway Entertainment, her agency, said on the 14th that Park Ha-sun decided to leave the DJ position after lengthy discussions with the production team. Her final broadcast will air Nov. 1. The main reason for her departure is to focus more fully on her primary career as an 'actor', the agency said.
Park Ha-sun first took the microphone on Nov. 2, 2020, and won widespread affection from listeners with her signature warmth and sincerity, earning the nickname 'Candy DJ'. She has carried on the legacy of 'CineTown,' a film-music program that has been on the air since 1999, establishing herself as a reliable host who brightened listeners' mornings.
Park Ha-sun remains active across a range of fields. She is currently showcasing her versatility in the play 'The Secret of Flowers' and entertainment programs including 'Divorce Consideration Camp', 'Hidden Eye' and 'My Secret Butterfly Effect'. After leaving radio, she plans to review her next projects and accelerate her acting work in earnest.
Meanwhile, a new host to succeed Park Ha-sun on 'CineTown' has not yet been selected.
