Diva returns to her role as a mother, makes difficult decision after 9 years

Singer Lee Soo-young is stepping away from the microphone for a while to care for her child, who was diagnosed with acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia. She has decided to temporarily leave ‘Lee Soo-young’s Let’s Meet at Noon’, the CBS Music FM program she has hosted for about nine years since 2017.

Lee Soo-young personally announced her ‘temporary departure’ through the program’s official website on the fifth. She said her child had suddenly fallen ill and been hospitalized just before the Chuseok holiday, adding that intensive chemotherapy is now underway.

“During the initial intensive treatment period, I’m in a situation where I can’t take my eyes off my child for even a moment,” she explained. She added that she made the decision to fulfill her responsibility as a mother before her role as a broadcaster. Her words reflected her determination to remain fully by her child’s side through the long road of treatment.

Lee Soo-young ended by asking listeners to pray and promising to return to the microphone in good health. Fans and listeners have continued to send well-wishes for her child’s recovery and messages of support as the absence of the host who warmly filled noon each day for nine years is felt.
